Within the scope of the Health Tourism Development Project, the final report of the “Health Tourism Conference and Workshop” held in December under the leadership of the Health Tourism Council with the participation of state, private sector and non-governmental organization officials was presented to Minister of Health Faiz Sucuoğlu by the chairman of the council Ahmet Savaşan and members of the board of directors.

Within the scope of the Health Tourism Development Project, the final report of the “Health Tourism Conference and Workshop” held in December under the leadership of the Health Tourism Council with the participation of state, private sector and non-governmental organization officials was presented to Minister of Health Faiz Sucuoğlu by the chairman of the council Ahmet Savaşan and members of the board of directors.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, Sucuoğlu said that the project, which was initiated with the main goal of bringing the Health Tourism Master Plan to the TRNC, came to life with the support of the Prime Ministry, under the auspices of the Ministries of Health and Tourism and Environment, with the financing of the Development and Economic Cooperation Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Nicosia, and that the final report of the workshop was the cornerstone in the preparation of the master plan.

Stating that tourism and education are the locomotive sectors in Northern Cyprus, Minister Sucuoğlu stated that in order to achieve a real development in the field of Health Tourism, this field should be encouraged, supported and supervised in a planned manner.

Stating that their main goal is to increase the quality in the field of health in the TRNC, Sucuoğlu emphasized that the government's support is full in order to get the maximum benefit from health tourism and that the Ministry of Health will continue to make its contribution.

Stating that a report was prepared on a scientific basis as a result of the work of distinguished committees consisting of stakeholder managers and experts within the scope of the project, Ahmet Savaşan said, “Representatives of the state, private sector and non-governmental organizations have contributed to the preparation of an important report by exhibiting an exemplary and meaningful unity for the development of Health Tourism in our country.”.

“THE PROJECT HAS ENTERED THE SECOND PHASE”

Pointing to the importance of the support provided by the governments of Turkey and the TRNC for the sustainable development of Health Tourism in the country, Savaşan said that the work is continuing very intensively. Explaining that the project has entered the second phase, Savaşan said that in the second phase, analyzes have started to be made in the fields of health and tourism, and issues such as incentive systems and legal infrastructure are being examined, and noted that their goal is to complete the Health Tourism Master Plan at the end of four months.
