UBP Secretary General Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, in a post on his personal social media account, gave important messages within the scope of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25.
Prof. Dr. Savaşan emphasized that violence against women and girls is unacceptable in any form and stated that digital violence has come to the fore as a new area that threatens women's safety, freedom and social participation as technology has become central to life.
Noting that the 2025 theme “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls - No Excuse for Online Violence” is a strong call to everyone, Savaşan underlined the need to jointly combat all forms of violence produced on digital media, from online harassment to hate speech, cyberbullying to non-consensual image sharing.
Stating that the protection of women's right to live safely in all digital and physical areas is possible with strong legal regulations, awareness-raising activities, social sensitivity and joint struggle, Savaşan emphasized that they stand by every step taken for women to live a dignified, equal and violence-free life.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Savaşan concluded his message with the words “We will continue to work for equality and solidarity to prevail, not violence.”.
