\nSpeaking at the summit, which brought together tourism and procurement delegations from all over the world, Council President Ahmet Sava\u015fan introduced the health and sports tourism opportunities of Northern Cyprus, noting that Sava\u015fan also signed new agreements with the Middle East, Balkans, Eastern, Central, Northern and Southern European countries.<\/p>\n
\nNoting that over the past few decades, the tourism sector has proven its strength in economic development and job creation, Sava\u015fan emphasized that tourism is an important force for intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, peace, reconciliation and sustainable development.<\/p>\n
\nStating that according to the UNWTO report, 1 billion 322 million people traveled from one country to another in 2017 and the world tourism revenues exceeded 1.2 trillion dollars annually, Ahmet Sava\u015fan pointed out that the number of people traveling to receive health services in order to improve, maintain or restore their health, as well as to use holiday elements in the process of receiving health services has exceeded 30 million.<\/p>\n
