Health Tourism Council President Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sava\u015fan emphasized that people in Northern Cyprus still do not have the right to choose a hospital and a physician, which is the most basic patient right.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the statement made by the Council; Cyprus Health Tourism Council President Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sava\u015fan and Board Members visited patients in health institutions on the occasion of Patient Rights Day.
\nNoting that health services are recognized as a \u201cfundamental human right\u201d, that no one should be deprived of the right to health, and that the duty of a social law state is to take all necessary measures to ensure the full realization of this right for all citizens, Council President Ahmet Sava\u015fan stated that there are still significant deficiencies in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.<\/p>\n

HEALTH CARE MUST BE ACCESSIBLE, EQUAL AND FAIR...<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emphasizing that no matter which model is adopted in the field of health, health services should be accessible, equal and fair to citizens living all over the country, Sava\u015fan underlined that the General Health Insurance and Patient Rights Laws should be legalized as soon as possible by making them in line with international rules and country conditions.<\/p>\n

RIGHTS INCLUDE THE RIGHT TO PROTECTIVE MEASURES...<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sava\u015fan stated that patient rights in the world are generally defined as taking protective measures, free choice, respect for patients' time, quality standards, innovation, avoiding unnecessary pain\/pain and distress, personal treatment, benefiting from the service in general, accessing the service in equality, information, choosing and changing the organization, He stated that it covers issues such as recognizing, selecting and changing personnel, requesting information, privacy, consent and permission, refusal and stopping, security, fulfilling religious obligations, being respected, comfort, visiting, having a companion, application, complaint, lawsuit and compensation, continuous service, expressing opinions.<\/p>\n
