Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sava\u015fan, who issued a message on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, pointed out that democracy is a dynamic and indispensable value formed as a result of individual and social struggles intertwined with fundamental rights and freedoms.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Democracy feeds on freedom of expression...<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stating that democracy is the only political model envisaged by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), Sava\u015fan emphasized that democracy is nourished by freedom of expression and that freedom of the press is at the very heart of democracy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Turkish Cypriot press has undertaken very important tasks...<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pointing out that the Turkish Cypriot press, which has a deep-rooted history, has undertaken very important tasks from the past to the present, Ahmet Sava\u015fan said: \u201cIn line with its professional principles and ethical values, our press members have both witnessed the writing of the Turkish Cypriot history from the past to the present and played an active role in shaping history.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We stand with them to achieve modern working conditions...<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At the end of his message, Sava\u015fan said, \u201cWhile celebrating the \u201cWorld Press Freedom Day\u201d of all press workers, we emphasize that we are always with them in their struggle for the days when they can perform their profession more freely under more modern working conditions worthy of human dignity.\u201d.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cyprus Health Tourism Council President Assist.
