Dr. Ahmet Sava\u015fan, Deputy Secretary General of the National Unity Party, pointed out that the Turkish side has been forced to pursue federation for 50 years and said that President Mustafa Ak\u0131nc\u0131's statement \u201cI am not chasing a dream\u201d \u201cIf the government's policy on the Cyprus issue is to chase dreams, the policy of our President Mr. Ak\u0131nc\u0131 is to chase nightmares\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

National Unity Party Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ahmet Sava\u015fan made evaluations on the government program as well as the Cyprus issue and issues related to the country's agenda in a television program he attended.<\/p>\n

The first priority is economic development...<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stating that the UBP- HP government was established with the main objective of ensuring the stable growth of a productive, sustainable and competitive economic structure in line with increasing the welfare level of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ahmet Sava\u015fan said, \u201cOn the one hand, the failure to sign the Economic and Financial Cooperation Protocol with the Republic of Turkey, on the other hand, the failure to take the necessary measures on time, the increase in foreign exchange prices since mid-2018 and the parallel inflation reaching 30 percent, caused deep wounds in the country's economy. In such a period when the problems in our country are aggravated, the UBP's courage to enter the government and assume the prime ministership is the most important indicator of its belief in its State and its trust in its Motherland, as well as its responsibility to the people of the country. I would like to say that both our party and our country have full confidence in our President and Prime Minister Ersin Tatar to overcome the problems in the country. Both our Prime Minister and all other members of the government are aware of the problems in the country. As stated in the government program, the first priority will be given to economic development.\u2019.<\/p>\n

The most important element that stands out is merit...<\/p>\n

\u201cEmphasizing that the government's projects are ready, Ahmet Sava\u015fan said, \u201cAs a government, we aim to make a new development move in our country in a few years by having a stable period.\u201d Explaining that the government program includes steps to be taken in all areas of life, Ahmet Sava\u015fan pointed out that the program emphasizes that merit in appointments and what has not been done and what has not been done until today will be done.<\/p>\n

We will pay special attention to strengthening the political institution...<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stating that there is a need to strengthen democracy in the TRNC, Sava\u015fan pointed out that this issue is also included in the government program and said, \u201cthis will only be possible by strengthening the political institution, which is indispensable for our democracy, and increasing the trust in the political institution. A special effort will be made in this regard.\u201d.<\/p>\n

There will be a revolution to prevent leakages.<\/p>\n

Emphasizing that the government is determined to increase revenues by expanding the tax base and reducing tax rates instead of taking more taxes from taxpayers, Sava\u015fan said, \u201cOur government will work to start a revolutionary period by preventing tax losses and evasion with the development of the electronic tracking system with e-tax and the commissioning of e-customs.\u201d.<\/p>\n

A new industrial era will begin...<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pointing out that the TRNC's foreign trade deficit is closed with the revenues obtained from tourism and higher education, Sava\u015fan pointed out that the UBP-HP government is aware of the needs of the modern world and in this context, it will develop innovative entrepreneurship and IT sectors by completing the R&D and Technopark legal regulations covering R&D, Innovation and IT Sectors. \u201cOur government will take the necessary steps for the development of the Software Industry as well as the tourism and education sectors by encouraging high value-added software production, which is accepted as a chimneyless industry in the world, whose raw material is largely trained manpower. In this way, a new industrialization process suitable for today's conditions and island conditions will be initiated in our country and a period in which the TRNC will be much stronger economically will be entered.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Reliable statistic will be produced...<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ahmet Sava\u015fan pointed out that in this period, great importance will be attached to the production of high quality, up-to-date, reliable, consistent, impartial, unbiased statistics that will take into account the needs and priorities in Northern Cyprus, and emphasized that the Law on the Statistical Institute will be handled in this context and put into effect in a short time.<\/p>\n

The public reform process will be completed...<\/strong><\/p>\n
