It is also necessary to accept that there is no common vision between the parties in terms of ground. Unless the current mentality of the Greek Cypriot leadership changes, it is nothing but a dream to believe that a federal partnership based on sharing will be established in the near future.”.

Doing the same things and expecting different results is madness!

Reminiscent of Einstein's quote “doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results is madness”, UBP Deputy Secretary General Ahmet Savaşan said that the decisive steps taken by the government on both the Cyprus Issue and the Varosha issue have broken the memorization and created an important awareness both in Cyprus and on the international platform that the Turkish Cypriot People is a sovereign people.

Developments confirm the government's stance on the Cyprus issue...

Stating that the UBP's policy is clear on preserving the peaceful attitude of the Turkish Cypriot side and discussing new ideas that are much more realistic and realizable in the current conditions of Cyprus, including different partnership models based on cooperation on the one hand and two states within the EU on the other hand, Savaşan pointed out that the cooperation on issues such as the mutual extradition of criminals and the operation of mobile phones in both regions is pleasing and pointed out that these developments also confirm the government's stance on the Cyprus Issue.

Tatar is leading a proactive policy

Ahmet Savaşan reminded that the main objective of the government established under the prime ministership of the UBP is to ensure the steady growth of a productive, sustainable and competitive economic structure in line with increasing the welfare level of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and pointed out that Prime Minister Ersin Tatar led the government to pursue a proactive policy on the Cyprus Issue, Closed Varosha and hydrocarbon issues in line with the international conjuncture and developments.

The time has come to give life to Maraş...

Underlining that Closed Varosha is legally a military zone within the territory of the TRNC and that although it has been discussed between the two sides many times as a confidence-building measure since the past, no result has been achieved, Savaşan said, “it is time to stir this swamp, look at exactly what is in it and as soon as possible to dry it and give life to the region”.

Tatar is clear about the opening of Varosha under Turkish administration...

Stating that the established teams have started working to create a comprehensive inventory that will include issues such as title deed records, the status of movable and immovable properties, the determination of Foundation properties, the state of the infrastructure, and the elements that pose a risk to the environment, Ahmet Savaşan said that the government will decide on the second step to be taken after the report that will emerge without prejudice to the property rights of individuals and the Foundations Administration.
