Speaking at the Sports Tourism and Recreation Seminar, which attracted great interest from students Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, Sava\u015fan drew attention to the \u201cmarriage of interest\u201d between sports and tourism in the 21st century. Pointing out that sports tourism was born out of people participating in tourism for the purpose of doing sports or watching sporting events, Sava\u015fan underlined that today a very large mass of people travel to do sports or watch sporting events.<\/p>\n

Sport creates a great opportunity for promotion...<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stating that sports tourism is growing faster than global tourism, Sava\u015fan pointed out that in addition to its economic contributions, sports tourism also has positive effects such as increasing the number of sporting activities in the country, promoting the country's culture, developing the phenomenon of professionalism in sports, and developing mass sports.<\/p>\n

The rate of sports tourism in our country is close to 0...<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stating that sports tourism positively affects handicrafts, urbanization, transportation, economy, infrastructure, employment, culture, education and many similar areas Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, \u201cSports tourism accounts for approximately 35 percent of total tourism activities in the world. This rate is still close to zero despite the steps taken in our country.\u2019.<\/p>\n

We need to develop sports tourism to increase revenues<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stating that sports tourism is an important field that is very suitable for development in Northern Cyprus but cannot find the necessary attention, Sava\u015fan said, \u201cOur country offers an alternative and valuable tourism destination to today's travelers with the options it creates in many areas such as holiday, health, congress, faith, eco. Established in 1983, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a young state with a population of 370 thousand people, but thanks to the high standard of education provided at 20 universities, it has managed to host more than 102 thousand educational tourists from more than 100 countries and 1 million 2 hundred thousand holiday tourists. What needs to be done is to develop alternative fields such as sports and health, which are increasingly in demand, and to grow the country's economy and contribute to our state standing on its own feet.\u2019.<\/p>\n

Stating that it is necessary to see that \u201csports\u201d has been added as the fourth to the 3S, which has become a stereotype based on the English equivalents of the words \u201csea, sand, sun\u201d (sea, sand, sun), which are accepted as the three main elements of tourism Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, Sava\u015fan underlined that there is potential for the 4S model to be established in Northern Cyprus in line with this reality.
