President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, MP Dr. Ahmet Sava\u015fan participated in the Berlin International Tourism Exchange (ITB Berlin) fair, which shaped tourism with its history of more than half a century and brought together 5,500 participants from 161 countries this year. Sava\u015fan said that thanks to the council's activities on the international platform and the newly created digital platform with the Health North Cyprus brand, they aim for Northern Cyprus to achieve a 50 percent increase in health tourism revenues and a 20 percent increase in employment in 2023.<\/h2>\n

New type Coronavirus<\/span> Participating in ITB Berlin, the world's largest tourism fair, which could not be held face to face for the last three years due to the pandemic, under the umbrella of the TRNC Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the Cyprus Health Tourism Council represented Northern Cyprus in the Health and Medical Tourism section established in a special area this year and introduced the medical services offered by its members.<\/p>\n

Pointing out that the share of health tourism in overall global tourism expenditures has increased, Council President Dr. Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, emphasized that they are working to ensure that Northern Cyprus also gets a significant share from this huge industry, which is estimated to grow by 25 percent in the next decade and have a volume of billions of dollars.<\/p>\n

\u201cNEW AGREEMENTS WITH MORE THAN 20 COUNTRIES...\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stating that within the scope of ITB Berlin contacts, he met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Turkish Ambassador to Berlin Ahmet Ba\u015far \u015een, TRNC Berlin Representative Ambassador Beniz Uluer Kaymak, T\u00dcRSAB Chairman Firuz Ba\u011fl\u0131kaya, as well as representatives of more than 20 countries and many members of the press. Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, \u201cDuring the meetings we held in Berlin, we introduced our health services to the country representatives and stakeholders we came together with, without waiting time, with advanced medical devices and specialist physicians using up-to-date information, under favorable conditions, in comfortable hospitals and clinics, combining touristic richness. Thanks to the connections we have established and the new agreements we have made, we anticipate that more health tourists from more countries, especially from Germany, will come to Northern Cyprus in 2023.\u201d.<\/p>\n
