Cyprus Health Tourism Council President and UBP MP Ahmet Sava\u015fan said, \u201cThe disasters we have experienced have once again proved the importance of the health system. We need to renew our health system as soon as possible to respond to the needs without delay and to improve the rights of employees and patients.\u201d.<\/h2>\n

President of Cyprus Health Tourism Council, UBP MP Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, emphasized the importance of renewing the health system, pointing out that preventive health services should be expanded<\/p>\n

Speaking about the March 14th Medical Day in a television program he attended, the President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, UBP MP Dr. Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, Sava\u015fan pointed out that there is a need for the General Health Insurance and the Patient Rights Law to be passed, as well as the workplace physician regulation to come to life as soon as possible. \u201cNecessary steps should be taken on these issues without further delay. The relevant ministers and of course, we have a duty to do what is necessary as soon as possible.\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHE HEALTH SYSTEM HAS HAD CHRONIC PROBLEMS FOR YEARS\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stating that the most important responsibility for the uninterrupted, effective and high quality delivery of health services to the people of the country falls on the state, and the duty falls on physicians and healthcare professionals Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, Sava\u015fan emphasized that the people of the country, physicians and health workers have been experiencing great problems due to the chronic problems of the health system for years. \u201cOne of the most vital needs is for our people to be able to choose hospitals and physicians and to receive uninterrupted quality healthcare services,\u201d Sava\u015fan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cRENEWING THE HEALTH SYSTEM IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT DUTIES TOWARDS SOCIETY\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emphasizing that the health system needs to be renewed and that this renewal should be done in order to protect and improve the rights of both health workers and patients Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, pointed out that doing so is one of the most important duties of the state towards society.<\/p>\n

\u201cOUR PEOPLE WANT A STATE THAT FULFILLS ITS RESPONSIBILITIES\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Underlining that the passage of the General Health Insurance and the Patient Rights Law and the workplace physician regulation should not be delayed any further Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, \u201cOur people want to see a state that fulfills its responsibilities, as well as well-educated physicians and health workers who produce services under the best working conditions, are satisfied with the services they produce, respect their patients and look to the future with hope,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHE STATE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HEALTH SERVICES\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe state is responsible for all health services, whether provided directly by the public sector or outsourced from the private sector. Gathering these services under one roof with the General Health Insurance will ensure that patients can access effective health services.\u201d. Ahmet Sava\u015fan<\/span>, Sava\u015fan underlined that protecting the health of citizens before they get sick is also of great importance. Sava\u015fan emphasized that preventive services are not only decisive in saving lives but also important in reducing the state's health expenditures. Reminding that the dissemination of preventive health services is the responsibility of the state, Sava\u015fan said, \u201cIf preventive health services are increased, the treatment costs of the state and people will decrease, labor force losses will be prevented, social peace and welfare will increase significantly.\u201d.<\/p>\n
