The fact that hundreds of young Turkish Cypriots, at the risk of risking their lives, interrupted their university education and came to Erenk\u00f6y from abroad to join the resistance is a rare event in history. The Erenk\u00f6y Resistance symbolizes the desire of the Turkish Cypriot people for independence and the failure of Greek\/Greek aggression.<\/p>\n<p>I commemorate our beloved martyrs who sacrificed their lives in this sacred struggle with mercy and our Erenk\u00f6y veterans with gratitude.
