UBP Honorary President, 3rd President Derviş Eroğlu made a special statement to Kıbrıs Postası at the UBP workshop and said: ’I have formed bilateral coalitions and I cannot say that their lifespan is very long, so I cannot say that the lifespan of the quadruple coalition is longer than the bilateral coalitions“ and said that the current government is shaking and that there are cracks and incompatibilities within the government.
Oğuz: “UBP always directs its future by looking at its past”
UBP MP Dursun Oğuz pointed out that UBP always has projects to take this country forward and said, “UBP always directs its future by looking at its past. UBP is the first party of the country and it has to do this kind of work, it has to do it more than other parties. Because this country needs the UBP,” he said. Stating that it is a mistake to say that the UBP has never made a mistake, Oğuz said, “The needs of the society are not like in the past, if we want to embrace the whole society, all ideologies, the society also needs to find something in us, not only in terms of votes, but in terms of service, citizenship, rights, justice, it must be done on a realistic basis.”.
Amcaoğlu: “UBP will continue its path more comfortably, sincerely and in harmony with its base”
UBP MP Olgun Amcaoğlu said that they held this meeting to discuss what the UBP, whose vision and mission is clear, should do in the next process of the TRNC with new political strategies and to look for ways to achieve results with collective work. Savaşan: “We will determine the needs of the future while respecting the past”
UBP Deputy Secretary General Ahmet Savaşan, noting that it was a workshop with the participation of all elected and appointed officials, said, “Our aim is to create a strategy plan and review our vision and move it forward. In this sense, we have many friends working in various boards. It is a project that our friends developed with conviction.” Emphasizing that they aim to put forward a study that will shed light on the country by showing more tangible goals, Savaşan said, “We will determine the needs of the future while respecting the past. Eroğlu: “Workshops mean movement and excitement in parties”

I even disagreed with Turkey on the Annan Plan. But I think the tactic of the Greeks is not an agreement, but a stalling tactic.”.
Berova: “Not seeing that we are taking rapid steps towards power means being visually impaired”
UBP MP Özdemir Berova said that he was proud of the party today, noting that it was a workshop where they saw the large cadres of the party among us once again, and said, “It is necessary to be visually impaired not to see that such a big party is taking rapid steps on the march to power.” Underlining that they will continue to work for a stronger UBP and a stronger TRNC in the coming period, Berova said, “As MPs, our duty is to take both our party and our country further within the framework of the results of this workshop.” Emphasizing that in the UBP tradition, while a government is continuing, it is out of the question to meet with any part of that government, Özdemir Berova said, “However, the UBP has made a very effective opposition. A government has been formed against the nature of politics, so they are in trouble. It is clear that this government will not work in a healthy way.”.
Tatar: “Both people and parties must improve themselves”
UBP President Ersin Tatar underlined that politics is to create such environments, to get strength from these environments and to experience this enthusiasm together and said, “Our goal is to work for the TRNC to reach a better point. Both people and parties need to improve themselves, which is why we are doing strategic work in this workshop, in groups, discussing ideas”. Explaining that the workshop was organized on a scientific basis, Tatar said, “Our workshop aims to develop our politics and add strength to our strength by taking into account the expectations of our people and our cause, how the UBP can add strength to its power, how it can better participate in the goals, and how the expectations of our people and our cause can be taken into consideration.”.
“At the end of the day, this country will not be without a government”
Stating that the results of this workshop will shed light on the parties in the coming days, Ersin Tatar said, “If so many people come here and experience this excitement, something will definitely come out of this.” Pointing out that the current coalition government is shaking, Tatar said, “After I became the chairman, there was absolutely no meeting with the current government. If there is a government, it would not be right for us to go into detail. But at the end of the day, this country will not be without a government. Sucuoğlu: “If the country needs it, we will put our hands under the stone”
UBP MP Faiz Sucuoğlu stated that there is a prejudice that UBP cannot make opposition, but UBP makes a very serious opposition and they bring every issue to the agenda. “Our complaint is about the dose and degree of opposition. We cannot find that reflection, especially in the written press,” Sucuoğlu said, arguing that the government is in a situation of how many more days we can take it, “I was informed that there is a problem even in the payment of salaries. UBP Secretary General Hasan Taçoy stated that a study was organized for the formation of a structure that reveals that ideas can be carried forward and said, “I see a participation above what I desire.” Explaining that they once again saw that the UBP is a political party that continues on its way with confident steps from its foundation to the future, Taçoy said, “We see that there is a conflict between the government partners. This rivalry is not only seen as a rivalry between the government partners, there is a disorder in the spirit of the work and this disorder is reflected on the whole society. This means the unhappiness of the people and the end of the government.” Stating that they are not after narrowing the government by tightening their ranks, Hasan Taçoy said, “We are approaching with decency and state understanding, expressing that they are doing wrong and saying that they should not stay in the government. If the current government continues, the UBP will profit, but since the people are in despair, they desire the UBP to come to power, so we demand power.” Reminding that they are ready if a duty falls to them, Taçoy said, “Our party assembly decides on our candidate for the presidential election. When the day comes, the UBP party assembly will answer this issue. The candidate nominated by the UBP will win the election.”.
