May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, Health Tourism Council President Dr. Savaşan emphasized that the spirit of May 19 is the guarantee of the continuation of the existence and state of the Turkish Cypriots in Northern Cyprus, which is an integral part of Turkey.
Pointing out that May 19 is the name of the day when the Turkish Nation's hopes for independence and freedom turned into faith, the fire of liberation was lit, and the belief in a bright future was strengthened, President of the Health Tourism Council Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, He pointed out that the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, by dedicating May 19 as a gift to young people, showed both the confidence he had in young people and the responsibility he placed on them.
Pointing out that May 19, 1919 was an important turning point on the road to the Republic of Turkey, Savaşan reminded that the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk set foot in Samsun on May 19, 1919 and started the National Struggle at a time when the Turkish Nation was looking for a solution to liberate the occupied homeland lands.
Stating that in the process that started with Atatürk's landing in Samsun and ended with the proclamation of the Republic, the beloved Turkish Nation, united around the love of homeland and flag and the desire for independence, realized the feeling of unity with the belief, spirit of independence, love for homeland and flag that it took from its history, Savaşan emphasized that this spirit has always guided the Turkish Cypriot People and youth.

“No one should have any doubt that the statesmen, scientists, doctors, educators, artists, athletes, industrialists, farmers and in fact young people who will achieve success in all areas of life will make Turkey and the TRNC proud,” Savaşan said, underlining that the adult politicians of today should have confidence in young people and future generations, as in Atatürk's words “Young people! Young people who undertake to realize my future ambitions! I am very pleased and happy that one day I will leave this country to a youth like you who have understood me”.
