Cyprus Health Tourism Council Dr. Ahmet Savaşan published a message on the 57th anniversary of the Erenköy Resistance, one of the cornerstones of the Turkish Cypriot struggle for existence.

Two years of open prison life in Erenköy
Ahmet Savaşan stated that the students fought together with the local people in Erenköy in a steep and mountainous region surrounded by the surrounding area, with no connection to their families, and reminded that most of them did not know the weapons because they were not soldiers, and that some of them took up arms with 2-3 weeks of shooting training and resisted without a proper, planned military organization and command center, in arrangements that could not even be called a position. Pointing out that some of them were martyred, some of them witnessed the death of their friend next to them without knowing life, Savaşan emphasized that it should not be forgotten that the majority of them lived an open prison life in the region for 2 years because they could not leave the region despite the end of the war.
We remember the mujahideen, our women and the people of the region with gratitude
