According to the written statement made by Savaşan, this year's summit took place in London with the agenda of education, employment and sustainability and the theme of “Rethinking Tourism”.

Mr. Savaşan said that the summit brought together Tourism Ministers, industry leaders, youth representatives and experts from around the world to set a roadmap for a safer, greener and smarter future.

 

Participants emphasized that it is time for the tourism sector to focus on cooperation rather than competition. Ahmet Savaşan, The summit called for tourism to be mainstreamed in the political agenda, as well as greater cooperation between tourism ministries and ministries of economy and environment, he said.

Stating that more than 70 conferences and seminars were held during the three-day WTM London Fair, and that the sector needs to rethink and reshape in order to ensure sustainability in tourism in general came to the fore Ahmet Savaşan, “In the meetings we have attended, we are seeing a resurgence of tourism in many parts of the world, and after millions of job losses in 2020, as well as a 50 percent drop in the direct contribution of travel and tourism to global GDP, the data for 2022 shows a clear recovery with strong pent-up demand.
