The Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee held talks in Ankara with the Turkish Health, Family, Labor and Social Affairs Committee. The delegation thus concluded its contacts in Ankara.
According to the information given by the Assembly of the Republic, the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee held its last meeting with the Health, Family, Labor and Social Affairs Committee chaired by Recep Akdağ within the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) within the framework of its contacts in Ankara.
Recep Akdağ, Chairman of the Commission, expressed their great pleasure to welcome the delegation to the Parliament and noted that they are ready to work for the improvement of health services in the TRNC as in every field.
Akdağ emphasized that being aware of the fact that the TRNC people have been struggling with many difficulties as a free people for years, they will continue to support them in the past and in the future. Akdağ stated that they welcomed the acceptance of the TRNC as an observer member of the Organization of Turkic States and added that they fully support the sovereign equality of the TRNC, the Maraş Initiative and its rights in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Chairman of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee Özdemir Berova In his speech, he stated that Motherland Turkey has always stood by the Turkish Cypriot people and underlined that due to the embargoes imposed on the TRNC, there have been problems in many areas, especially after the pandemic, serious problems have arisen in the supply of medicines and these problems have increased even more.
BESIM
Deputy Chairman of the Committee Filiz Besim In his speech here, he stated that cooperation between Parliaments and Commissions is very important in terms of institutionalization and noted that a proper transformation in the field of health has not yet taken place.
Besim stated that the crisis that emerged in the supply of medicines, especially after the pandemic, along with other problems in health in the country, caused very serious problems, adding that it would be possible to prevent these problems with the right policies to be implemented between the two countries.
Recep Akdağ, Chairman of the Commission, said that they are aware that there are problems in the supply of raw materials for pharmaceuticals around the world, but that these problems will be solved in the near future.
During the meeting, the delegation of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee included Committee Chairman Berova, Deputy Committee Chairman CTP MP Filiz Besim, UBP MP Emrah Yeşilırmak, CTP MP Devrim Barçın, UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan and CTP MP Erkut Şahali’TRNC Ambassador to Ankara İsmet Korukoğlu, Secretary General of the TRNC Republican Assembly Seral Fırat, Director of Laws, Decisions and Minutes Pembe İnanç Unan Ersöz also took part.

Following the meeting, Recep Akdağ, Chairman of the Health, Family, Labor and Social Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, hosted a dinner in honor of the TRNC Republican Assembly Delegation at the Marble Hall of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
The delegation of the Economy, Finance, Budget and Planning Committee of the Republican Assembly, which has completed its Ankara visits, is expected to return to the TRNC this evening.
