A dinner was given in honor of the delegation of the Republican Assembly Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee, which held talks in Ankara.

Çiğdem Erdoğan Atabek, Deputy Chairman of the Turkey - TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, hosted a dinner in honor of the delegation of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee of the Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, which is in Ankara.

The dinner, which took place at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), was attended by the Chairman of the Committee, UBP MP Özdemir Berova, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, CTP MP Filiz Besim, UBP MP Emrah Yesilirmak, CTP MP Devrim Barçın, UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan, CTP MP Erkut Şahali’In addition to the TRNC Ambassador to Ankara İsmet Korukoğlu, Secretary General of the Assembly of the Republic Seral Fırat and Director of Laws, Decisions and Minutes Pembe İnanç Unan Ersöz attended the ceremony.

In the TBMM delegation, AK Party İzmir Deputy Necip Nasır, AK Party Hatay Deputy Hacı Bayram Türkoğlu, AK Party Manisa Deputy Tamer Akkal, CHP Çorum Deputy Tufan Köse, MHP Deputy Ahmet Erbas’Mehmet Ali Kumbuzoğlu, Secretary General of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

In his speech at the dinner, Çiğdem Erdoğan Atabek, Deputy Chairman of the Turkey-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, expressed his pleasure to welcome Berova as the Deputy Chairman of the TRNC-Turkey Friendship Group together with his delegation at the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Stating that the Turkish Grand National Assembly will always continue its efforts for the Turkish Cypriots, Atabek said that they especially wish to develop ties with the Turkic Republics.

Committee Chair Özdemir Berova On his part, he said that he was pleased to be in Ankara and expressed his belief that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's speech at the United Nations and the observer membership to the Organization of Turkic States were important developments and that new steps would be taken towards the recognition of the TRNC.

Berova stated that they want to strengthen ties with Turkic states and that their aim is for the TRNC to stand on its own feet and increase its welfare level.

The delegation in Ankara is expected to continue its contacts with the reception of Mustafa Şentop, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
