About me

Originally from Paphos, Ahmet Savaşan was born in Nicosia in 1977. He graduated from Near East University (NEU) Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1999. Continuing his academic education at the same university, Savaşan completed his master's degree at the Institute of Science and Social Sciences, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, and then completed his doctorate at the Institute of Educational Sciences, Department of Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economics.

Savaşan, who has many scientific studies published in international refereed journals, continues his academic activities with the title of Associate Professor. Savaşan, who has taken part in the organization of more than 100 national and international congresses, conferences and meetings so far, has been deemed worthy of many awards for these works.

Ahmet Savaşan, who has taken an active role in many social responsibility projects with his awareness of social responsibility, has also served as a manager in various non-governmental organizations. He is a member of reputable organizations such as Turkish World Union of Engineers and Architects, World Disability Union (WDU) and Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Electrical Engineers.

Throughout his career, Savaşan has assumed many important positions in the public, academic and private sectors. He served as the Chief Advisor to the Prime Ministry of TRNC, Coordinator of the TRNC Prime Ministry Science Board, Secretary General of the Cyprus Turkish Tourism and Travel Agencies Association (KITSAB), Founding Chairman of NEU Tourism Research and Development Center, Member of the Supervisory Board of Turkish Cypriot Airlines (KTHY), General Manager of Near East Tourism Enterprises, Founding Board Member of Near East University Hospital and Chairman of Patient Services and External Relations.

Ahmet Savaşan, who represented the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as the chairman of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC), which is a member of 56 countries, between 2023-2024, is currently serving as the President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council.

Savaşan, who has also been active in the political arena, has served as a Party Assembly and Central Executive Board Member and Deputy Secretary General within the National Unity Party (UBP). In the January 23, 2022 early general elections, Savaşan was elected to the Republican Assembly as Nicosia MP and has been serving as the Deputy Chairman of the UBP Group since August 25, 2023.

Since August 30, 2025, Ahmet Savaşan, who has also served as UBP Secretary General, is a member of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee and Chairman of the Special Committee on European Union Harmonization, which operates within the Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, who actively contributed to more than 100 legislative studies between 2022-2024, continues his work in political, academic and social fields. He is married and has one child.
