While Fikri Ataoğlu, Deputy Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu assumed the Presidency of the High Advisory Board of the World Health Tourism Council in the new term, Cyprus Health Tourism Council, TRNC Deputy Dr. Ahmet Savaşan was elected as the President of the organization.

The General Assembly of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) was held under the Presidency of Croatia. The Council (GHTC) was established in Monaco under the founding presidency of Turkey, with the participation of the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates Dubai, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Croatia, India, Nigeria, Panama, Poland, Senegal, Ukraine, Jordan and Greece, and today the presidency of the World Health Tourism Council, which includes 56 countries, has passed to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

 

Ahmet Savaşan TERM PRESIDENT ELECTED...

TRNC Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoglu’s presidency of the organization, which was assumed by TRNC Deputy Cyprus Health Tourism Council President Dr. Ahmet Savaşan selected.

FOUNDING PRESIDENT EMİN ÇAKMAK CHAIRED THE MEETING

Dr. Miljenko Bura, the 6th President of the Council, who also served as the Deputy Minister of Health responsible for the development of health tourism in Croatia, delivered the opening speech and Emin Çakmak, Founding President of GHTC, chaired the general assembly meeting.

“GHTC AGAINST ALL FORMS OF DISCRIMINATION”

In his speech at the general assembly, Founding President Emin Çakmak emphasized that the World Health Tourism Council cannot make political evaluations and discrimination on any issue, and pointed out that countries that fulfill the necessary conditions can become members of the organization with their own flags and languages and can also participate in elections.

Emin Çakmak also announced in his speech that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has fulfilled all the conditions required to be a candidate for the presidency and that there is no problem for it to be a candidate for the presidency.

 

ACCREDITATION, DIGITALIZATION ISSUES DISCUSSED...

At the general assembly meeting where the annual report was presented by the term president Croatia, issues such as expanding the international network of GHTC, new member country registrations, accreditation, training programs, digitalization, developments in the field of health tourism were discussed. Afterwards, Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. K., who is a candidate for the presidency of the term, was elected. Ahmet Savaşan brought to the attention of the General Assembly the projects they plan to realize under the rotating presidency of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

“OUR GOAL IS TO INCREASE COOPERATION AMONG MEMBER STATES...”

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoglu’Ataoğlu congratulated the country representatives for their valuable contributions to the development of health tourism. Minister Ataoğlu also thanked Founding President Emin Çakmak for his decisive support for the representation of TRNC in the World Health Tourism Council since the first day.

Ataoğlu stated that during the TRNC's presidency, they will primarily support efforts to develop health tourism on a global scale and to increase cooperation both among member countries and between member countries and Northern Cyprus.

 

“GLOBAL HEALTHCARE TRAVEL FORM WILL BE HELD IN KKTC...”

Underlining that they will provide the necessary support to the work of the Council in the 2023-24 period, Minister Ataoğlu said that they will contribute to the institutionalization and international visibility of the GHTC, including hosting the Global Healthcare Travel Forum (GHTC) in 2024 in Northern Cyprus with international participation.

He was appointed as the chairman of the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC) by Dr. Dr. Ahmet Savaşan’Emin Çakmak announced that China, Saudi Arabia, Croatia, Germany, Germany, India, Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Morocco were also elected as vice presidents at the general assembly.
