Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Unal Üstel, He stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has been cooperating with more than a hundred countries of the world in many areas of life, especially tourism, education and health, despite the fact that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has been kept under unjust isolation for years and wanted to sever its ties with the world, and emphasized that taking over the Presidency of the World Health Tourism Council will not only increase the international visibility of the TRNC, but will also create opportunities for the development of mutual cooperation with member countries.
OUR GOVERNMENT WILL MAKE SPECIAL EFFORTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HEALTH TOURISM
Noting that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus provides high standards of health services in almost all branches in university hospitals, private hospitals and clinics, as well as in public hospitals, to more than a hundred people coming to Northern Cyprus for many purposes such as education, tourism, business and health, the Prime Minister said Unal Üstel, He said that Northern Cyprus offers unique opportunities in the fields of health protection and promotion as well as medical health tourism. Prime Minister Üstel added that the government will make special efforts for the development of Health Tourism during the period when TRNC will be the President of the World Health Tourism Council.

Stating that the Council (GHTC) was established in Monaco with the participation of Turkey, United States of America, United Arab Emirates Dubai, United Kingdom, Estonia, Croatia, India, Nigeria, Panama, Poland, Senegal, Ukraine, Jordan and Greece and that the number of member countries has reached 56 today, Emin Çakmak, Founding President of the World Health Tourism Council, said in his speech that the flag of the Presidency was transferred from Croatia to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus at the ceremony held with international participation. In the new period, the Presidency of the Council will be held by Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, and the TRNC Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment as the Chairman of the High Advisory Board. Fikri Ataoglu’Emin Çakmak expressed their satisfaction that Minister Ataoğlu will be in charge of health tourism and said that they will be in close contact with Minister Ataoğlu to increase health tourism investments in Northern Cyprus.
“HEALTH TOURISM POTENTIAL 1 TRILLION USD”
Stating that the World Health Tourism potential has reached 1 Trillion USD with 100 million traveling world citizens today, Çakmak said that in order for TRNC to get its share from this potential Ahmet Savaşan with the Turkish Health Tourism Council. Stating that in this new period, special efforts will be made to increase the number of health tourists sent to the TRNC by the Turkish Health Tourism Council through its 168 representative offices in 92 countries, Emin Çakmak said that in 2015 Ahmet Savaşan said that their goal when setting out with the GHTC was to make the TRNC a health base and that with the GHTC Presidency, this goal is one step closer.
