National Unity Party (UBP) Group Deputy Chairman Ahmet Savaşan, evaluated the amendment made to the Law on Inpatient Treatment Institutions.

Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, Savaşan emphasized that the unanimous amendment made by the Parliament to the Inpatient Treatment Institutions Law will strengthen health services. Savaşan said, “The decisive will and performance of the UBP and the positive attitude of the opposition on the amendment of the law has enabled a step that has been needed for years and that can create reform. The UBP is determined to do the necessary work to pass the laws needed in the new legislative period. If the opposition maintains its constructive approach in the new period, as in this law, many laws needed in our country will be enacted without delay and many needs will be met without delay.”.

“EMERGENCY AND INTENSIVE CARE WARDS TO BE STRENGTHENED...”

Ahmet Savaşan, He emphasized that with the amendments made by the Parliament to the Inpatient Treatment Institutions Law; hospitals will be strengthened in terms of doctors and other staff, the problem of patient caregivers, which has been bleeding for many years, will be eliminated and emergency services and intensive care units will be strengthened.

“100 CAREGIVERS TO BE HIRED IN HOSPITALS...”

Stating that amendments have been made to the law to increase the number of staff, and in this context, the Public Service Commission will employ doctors and health workers in many specialized branches through exams. Ahmet Savaşan, He underlined that thanks to the 100 caregivers foreseen to be recruited with the amended law, the problem of caregivers in hospitals will be eliminated.

Pointing out that the TRNC Assembly took an important step towards strengthening hospitals by amending the 500-page Law on the Department of Inpatient Treatment Institutions at its extraordinary meeting, Savaşan pointed out that with these amendments, the long waiting times in state-owned inpatient treatment institutions were shortened and also the way was paved for all healthcare professionals, including doctors, to provide much more effective healthcare services to the people of the country.

“THE LAW WAS PREPARED WITH GREAT EFFORTS...”

Stating that the law has been worked on for years and great efforts have been made, Savaşan said, “The law was amended at an extraordinary meeting held during a period when the parliament was in recess with the political will of the UBP, the main opposition party, as well as the main opposition party and other political party representatives and stakeholders. This law is of great value both in terms of the solutions it will produce to the problems experienced in the field of health and in creating a working environment in the parliament.”.

Underlining that the main goal in health is to establish a new and sustainable system in which the people of the country can access the uninterrupted health services they need on time and have the opportunity to choose doctors and hospitals with the social security of the state, Savaşan emphasized that a very important step has been taken to achieve this goal with the amendment of the law, but that there is still much more to be done to achieve this goal. Savaşan said, “As the UBP group, we are determined to make the necessary legal arrangements by working together with our partners, opposition parties and stakeholders at the point of taking these steps.”.
