Deputy Prime Minister Tourism Culture Youth and Environment Minister Fikri Ataoğlu attended the opening of Antalya 2023 Tourism Fair. Speaking during the opening, Ataoğlu said, ”In order to further develop tourism, which is the locomotive of our country's economy, our efforts to diversify the country's tourism and to expand special interest tourism continue intensively.

The Deputy Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment took its place at the Antalya 2023 Tourism Fair organized today and tomorrow in Antalya within the scope of overseas tourism promotion and marketing activities.

According to the information given by the Ministry, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu attended the fair and was accompanied by Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin, TRNC Consul General in Antalya Cem Topçu and World Health Tourism Council President Ahmet Savaşan.

More than 25,000 tourism professionals from 35 countries are participating in Antalya 2023 Tourism Fair, which brings together the dynamics of the tourism sector for the fifth time as the most productive tourism fair in Turkey and the Mediterranean.

TRNC is represented at the Antalya 2023 Tourism Fair, which brings together national and international tour operators, offline and online travel agencies, accommodation facilities, airlines, transportation companies, recreation areas, information technologies, gastronomy and service providers and financial institutions, with a delegation consisting of members of the Cyprus Turkish Hoteliers Association (KITOB), Cyprus Turkish Travel Agencies Association (KITSAB) and Health Tourism Council, as well as the professional team of the Deputy Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment.

At the TRNC stand, where promotional publications will take place, Turkish Cypriot traditional flavors will also be introduced to visitors.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, in his speech at the opening of the fair, stated that Antalya Fair is very important for Northern Cyprus and stated that he is happy to be here.

Ataoğlu continued his speech as follows;

“Despite the political, economic and humanitarian isolation to which it has been subjected for years, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a country that has integrated with the world, has become the choice of people from all over the world thanks to its success in sectors such as tourism, higher education and health, and has an economic structure that is getting stronger day by day.

In this sense, I would like to express my gratitude once again to the authorities of the Motherland Republic of Turkey, who have always and in every field stood by us.

Northern Cyprus offers a unique destination for tourists with its historical and cultural richness, beautiful beaches, delicious cuisine and hospitable people. In addition, the favorable climatic conditions make the TRNC suitable for tourism 12 months a year.

In order to further develop tourism, which is the locomotive of our country's economy, our efforts to diversify the country's tourism and to expand special interest tourism continue intensively.

In this sense, we are a preferred country thanks to our activities in the field of culture and arts, bird watching, hiking trails.

I can also say that tourism continues in the winter months due to the climatic conditions of our country and that our tours with 2-week accommodation continue under the name of winter tourism.

With charter flights and operations from Europe, winter tourism provides a great added value to both our national economy and tourism.

In addition to the geographical location, historical, touristic and humanitarian features of our country Northern Cyprus, it attracts the attention of many countries with its untouched structure and the demands to discover these beauties are increasing.

In addition, we continue our efforts to increase the bed capacity of the country in order to create new tourism areas and to bring new investments to life.
