UBP MP and Nicosia District Chairman Dr. Ahmet Savaşan stated that his duty as district chairman, which he accepted in order to “tidy up the district”, will end with the congress and wished success to all members who are candidates to take part in the district administration.

Savaşan said, “During my term as District President, we renovated the Nicosia District Presidency building in a manner befitting our party members and the capital city, we increased the visibility and effectiveness of our district with our new web page and social media accounts that we created in accordance with our modern and innovative management approach. We have implemented the School of Politics, which has been demanded by our party members of all age groups, young and adult, for years. We have implemented various responsibility projects, training activities and many other activities and events with the support of the members of the board of directors, supervisory and disciplinary boards of our district, the chairmen and members of the women and youth branches, our organizations and our colleagues. I believe that the same efforts should be continued with the same intensity and determination from now on. I will continue to contribute to these works and efforts as I did during my presidency. I believe that the more we can work, the more we can serve our party and our people. For this very reason, I would like to announce that I will not be a candidate for the District Presidency in the 23rd term, as I announced when I accepted the duty in order to be more productive in my UBP Group Deputy Chairman and committee memberships in the Assembly. I have completed my duty; I will hand it over in peace and with pride.”.
