Officials of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council visited Tourism Minister Faiz Sucuoğlu and asked for action to be taken for the development of Health Tourism in the country.

In his speech during the visit, Ahmet Savaşan, Founding President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, explained that the main purpose of the council is to work for tourism in general and Health Tourism in particular to become a State Policy. Emphasizing that the awareness of Northern Cyprus, which is preferred with its sea, sun and sand in many parts of the world, with its different and rich other features, should be increased on international platforms, Savaşan said that increasing the added value of the country depends on the preference of the country with other sustainable and alternative tourism types, especially Health Tourism. In this context, Savaşan stated that they expect the Ministry of Tourism to increase its current efforts and added that the council is ready to contribute to these efforts.

Sucuoğlu should take a role in making legal arrangements...

Stating that in order for Health Tourism to develop in Northern Cyprus, the ministries of Tourism, Health and Education in particular and the government in general should accept Health Tourism as one of the main tourism types of the country, Ahmet Savaşan asked Sucuoğlu to take a role in making the necessary legal arrangements and inspections in this context.

International standards and branding in Health Tourism are decisive...

Stating that quality, international standards, branding, promotion and innovation are of great importance in order to be successful in Health Tourism, Savaşan pointed out that especially medical, IVF, elderly and disabled tourism has a great potential for our country.

Savaşan pointed out that the tax reductions given to Health Tourism in Turkey, the financial support for overseas promotion and the structure that supports and supervises the sector should be taken as a role model for the TRNC and asked Minister Sucuoğlu for support in this regard.

Stating that despite everything, the country's tourism has turned its face to development in recent years, Ahmet Savaşan also expressed that they expect Sucuoğlu to take the necessary steps for the establishment of a tourism organization, which the tourism sector has agreed on for years in order to achieve sustainability in tourism.
