The Health Tourism Council participated in the event organized by the TRNC Bicycle Lovers Association with the slogan “I have a reason to live healthy” simultaneously with 35 cities.

Stating that the Bicycle Lovers Association has set an example for the development of “healthy life” awareness in the country, Council President Dr. Ahmet Savaşan stated that the purpose of participating in the event was to draw attention to the negative consequences of the use of harmful substances by cycling during the Green Crescent Week.

GOVERNMENTS HAVE A BIG ROLE TO PLAY

Underlining that the negative consequences of harmful substance use should be effectively explained to young people, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan said, “Governments, local administrations, institutions and organizations and non-governmental organizations have great duties to protect our youth, who are the guarantee of our future, from bad habits.”.

WE MUST EDUCATE OUR CHILDREN

Pointing out that although the harms of addictive substances such as alcohol, tobacco products and drugs are explained at every opportunity, unfortunately, these products are still consumed at a significant rate in our country, Savaşan said, “In order to protect our children, it is an inevitable need for each of us to raise awareness about substance abuse and to educate our children, who are our future, on this issue.”.
