The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus became a member of map2heal by signing the agreement in Ankara for the health tourism online reservation system, which was implemented as a project of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and connects 87 countries and 148 offices in the world online.

With the international agreement signed in Ankara by TRNC Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Founding President of World Health Tourism Emin Çakmak and Founding President of Cyprus Health Tourism Council Ahmet Savaşan, it is aimed to recognize TRNC physicians and health institutions on an international platform and to increase domestic Health Tourism revenues.

Stating that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has taken concrete steps for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to become an alternative destination in Health Tourism, which has taken its unique place in the tourism industry, which continues to develop despite the environment created by global crises and many negativities in the world, Ataoğlu said, “We are taking the necessary steps for the development of Health Tourism in Northern Cyprus and to increase the domestic value added. In this context, we see it as a historical step for our country to become a member of map2heal, an online health tourism reservation system that we believe will revolutionize the world. With this agreement, doctors and health institutions in our country will be recognized by 87 countries and Northern Cyprus will be preferred by many more health tourists.”.

Emin Çakmak, Founding President of the World Health Tourism Council, emphasized that the system offers great advantages in terms of health tourists as well as easier communication with doctors, effective patient follow-up and sending examinations, and said in his speech that they provide the necessary support for the TRNC to get the share it deserves from Health Tourism. Çakmak pointed out that the membership of Northern Cyprus to the map2heal system, which they believe will make a great contribution to the development of Health Tourism in the world, is a historical development. Çakmak emphasized that thanks to this system, both Turkey and TRNC will be preferred by more tourist patients from all over the world and said that patients will be able to choose the doctors and hospitals in the city they will visit online, see where their health insurance is valid and get answers to their questions in their own language.

Warring Council members get free access to map2heal

Stating that Northern Cyprus will start receiving health tourists from 87 countries with the map2heal international online patient reservation system, which was developed in cooperation with the world-renowned organization German Thieme Verlag and will provide professional translation services in 17 languages, Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that health institutions and doctors who are members of the Health Tourism Council can become members of the map2heal system free of charge.
