KITSAB President Tolun and KITSAB former Secretary General and NEU Tourism Enterprises General Manager Savaşan participated in the “Let's Do It” cleaning campaign together with tourism professionals.
Within the framework of the campaign, Orhan Tolun, President of the Cyprus Turkish Tourism and Travel Agencies Association, and Orhan Tolun, former Secretary General of KITSAB and General Manager of NEU Tourism Enterprises Ahmet Savaşan Together with tourism professionals and volunteers, they cleaned between the Nicosia Fairground and Gönyeli Circle.
KITSAB President Orhan Tolun said, “Today, June 5th is World Environment Day. The locomotive of our country's economy is tourism. Our biggest resource in our tourism is our environment. We consume our environment day by day and destroy it without knowing its value. As a member of the KITSAB Environmental Platform, KITSAB is doing its part to clean our country on this day and to raise awareness on this issue. Our members and employees have participated in the campaign in many points of our country and also provided logistical support to the campaign.”.
Tolun; this campaign is the most comprehensive cleaning campaign ever organized in our country
Tolun said, “This campaign has been the most comprehensive cleaning campaign in our country to date. Our duty here is to educate our children from an early age to raise them as environmentally sensitive individuals and to set the right example for them in the meantime. We are the ones who create destruction and pollution in the environment. It is not too late, despite the negativities that destroy our environment such as quarries, base stations, power plants, oil filling and treatment facilities and many more. Starting today, we should all be more sensitive to the environment and environmental problems. We must know that we must either learn to live in harmony with nature, or we must accept that nature will create its own order again, but in the new order that will be formed, we will disappear as the dinosaurs disappeared.”.
Let's take action to protect our environment while there is still time!
Unfortunately, today, to say something positive about the environment for both the world and our country or to talk about sustainability would be optimism to put it mildly and would not reflect the reality, Savaşan said, “For the future of the world and our island, first of all, it is essential to ensure the “right to live in a healthy and qualified environment”, which is one of the most fundamental human rights, and also to stop “environmental plunder”. Let's make an effort together to prevent pollution, to prevent the destruction of nature by protecting nature, to protect and increase green areas in order to leave a better world for future generations.” ”Let's take action to protect our environment while there is still time,” Savaşan concluded.
