President of the Health Tourism Council Dr. Ahmet Savaşan In his message on July 20 Peace and Freedom Day, he pointed out that July 20 was not the beginning of a war in Cyprus, but a historical step that ended the oppression and brought peace to the Turkish and Greek Cypriots.

Stating that July 20 came to life on July 15, when the fascist Junta of Colonels in Greece overthrew Makarios in a coup d'état in Cyprus and replaced him with Greek Cypriot fascist Nicos Samson and the Greek Cypriot national anthem was played on Greek Cypriot TV and it was announced that Enosis was on the way. Ahmet Savaşan, He stressed that Turkey's military action on July 20 prevented the coup from taking root and gaining acceptance in the world.

THE REASONS FOR THE OPERATION MUST BE READ CORRECTLY...

Underlining that with the military operation, on the one hand, the connection of Cyprus to Greece was prevented and the self-elected leaders of the Greek Cypriot community returned to their duties, on the other hand, the junta in Greece was overthrown and civilian rulers took office, Savaşan emphasized that the reasons for the operation should be read correctly.

WE MUST REMIND THE WORLD OF OUR PEACEFUL STANCE...

“On this independence day, on which Turkey brought freedom to the Turkish Cypriot People and the Greek Cypriot People by using its right of guarantorship, we must remind the whole world that our people are in a peaceful attitude today as they were yesterday,” Savaşan said, adding, “Although one year has passed since the Crans Montana conference, we must also explain that the Greek Cypriot side continues its negative attitude in all areas of our lives.”.

THE UN MUST QUESTION THE REASONS FOR THE INCONCLUSIVE TALKS...

Stating that there is a need to create mutual trust in creating the conditions for coexistence on this island, Savaşan stated that the prevention of the operation of mobile phones on both sides by the Greek Cypriot leadership by claiming that there is a so-called legal obstacle at the last stage, the postponement of this issue until after the solution despite the agreement on the permanent interconnection of the electricity networks of the two sides, and the outdated prohibitions against fuel purchased from the north due to the price difference clearly show the uncompromising attitude of the Greek Cypriot side even to those who do not want to see it. Ahmet Savaşan, He stated that the time has come and long passed for all parties, especially the UN, to seriously question why the searches that have been going on for fifty years have not yielded results.
