UBP MP, President of the World Health Tourism Council Dr. Ahmet Savaşan stated that there is a serious difference between the moment the prescription corruption investigation started and the current situation and said, “If we accuse all doctors and pharmacists of corruption, no one can close the wound we have opened in this society.”.
National Unity Party (UBP) MP and President of the World Health Tourism Council, Dr. Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, He was a guest of the program called ‘Sabah Postası’, which was broadcast on Kıbrıs Postası TV and prepared and presented by Gökhan Altıner.
UBP MP and President of the World Health Tourism Council Dr. Savaşan made evaluations on the stage reached in the prescription fraud investigation.
“THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BEGINNING OF THE PRESCRIPTION FRAUD INVESTIGATION AND THE CURRENT SITUATION”
Pointing out that there is a serious difference between the moment the investigation started and the current situation, Savaşan continued his statement as follows:
“Of course, corruption is not acceptable. Therefore, it is natural for our police to be vigilant in the process of identifying corrupt people. Some things need to be known about the point where the investigation has reached. We are far behind where we should be in health. As UBP, we accept our share. But Republican Turkish Party (CTP) governments are also responsible for this current situation. Both UBP and CTP’s time in government, if a drug tracking system had been established, there would have been no such profiteering.”
Mr. Savaşan stated that they decided to implement the drug tracking system and reforms in health rapidly in this period and took steps towards this.
“IF WE ACCUSE ALL DOCTORS AND PHARMACISTS OF CORRUPTION, NO ONE CAN CLOSE THE WOUND WE HAVE OPENED”
Noting that people who are involved in prescription fraud should be punished in the most severe way, but the situation of pharmacies that provide medication to facilitate access to medication for people with chronic diseases is different, Savaşan said, “If we cannot distinguish between corruption and irregularities and accuse all doctors or pharmacists of corruption, no one can close the wound we have opened in this society.”.
Savaşan stated that after the outbreak of these incidents, no doctor wrote prescriptions and there were very serious problems and said, “The second stage of the health reform movement that we started with the Inpatient Treatment Institution will be the implementation of the drug tracking system.”.
Emphasizing again that it is very important to distinguish between those who prescribe in good faith without any benefit and those who engage in corruption, Savaşan said, “We are closely following this issue. We are determined to establish a transparent system to prevent this incident from happening again.”.

AMENDMENT TO THE LAW ON INPATIENT TREATMENT INSTITUTIONS... “WE IMPLEMENTED THIS AMENDMENT BY SHOWING WILL”
UBP MP Savaşan also evaluated the amendment made to the Inpatient Treatment Institutions Law. Pointing out that this amendment could not be realized for a long time due to the lack of sufficient political will, Savaşan said, “As a result of the UBP showing the necessary will and performance, we realized this amendment in the summer months.”.
Reforming the law CTP’s committee members also contributed, Savaşan said, “CTP politics will be much more productive if we act by compromise, not by bickering,” he said.
“AN ARRANGEMENT WAS MADE IN WHICH 100 PEOPLE WITH CERTAIN QUALIFICATIONS WILL BECOME CAREGIVERS”
Savaşan also evaluated the effects of the Inpatient Treatment Institutions Law on human life and said, “An arrangement was made that 100 people who have certain qualifications will be patient caregivers through exams to be held by the Public Service Commission (KHK).”.
Stating that special arrangements have been made in intensive care and emergency departments in hospitals because they perform work that requires more effort than other regions, Savaşan continued his statement on the subject as follows:
“These arrangements will raise the standard of service and encourage people to work there. Positions were allocated to sub-disciplines in the field of health. Therefore, a law that can be called a reform in health was made. We want to realize reforms more rapidly from now on. Our efforts in this regard will continue in the future. We want this period to be remembered as the period of openings and we are working towards this.”
