UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan, in a statement on the Pile road, described the Greek Cypriot side's withdrawal of its objection to the construction of the road as a result and gain achieved thanks to the determination of the Turkish side.
National Unity Party (UBP) Group Deputy Chairman Dr. Ahmet Savaşan evaluated the developments regarding the transition to Pile and Israel's attacks on Gaza in the program he attended on BRT.
Dr. Savaşan stated that the development regarding the crossing to Pile is positive and expressed his concern about the war that started as a result of the provocative attacks of Hamas and the increase in civilian deaths as a result of Israel's disproportionate use of violence.
“THE BATTERY ROAD IS DECISIVELY OPENED”
UBP Group Deputy Chairman Ahmet Savaşan, who evaluated the statement made by the United Nations regarding the agreement reached on the Pile road, described the agreement reached, in other words, the withdrawal of the Greek Cypriot side's objection to the construction of the road, as a result and gain achieved thanks to the determination of the Turkish side.

Dr. Savaşan said, “The Greek side has given up its objection to the construction of the road. In return, it was said that they wanted to be allowed to develop in the area; they consider this a win. It is out of the question for us to object to people using their property. However, it remains to be seen how UN officials will manage developments in this area. It is clear that the consent of both sides will have to be sought at every stage to avoid problems. The responsibility and duty here lies with the UN Peacekeeping Force. We will maintain both our constructive and determined attitude.”.
“THE OPPOSITION SHOULD NOT BRAND A SHOW OF DETERMINATION AS ‘INTRANSIGENCE’”
Underlining that the example of Pile shows that positive results can be achieved if the determination shown by the Turkish side on access to Pile is also shown on other issues on the island and in the region, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan said, “I would like to address the opposition from here. They should immediately stop labeling decisive attitudes as ‘intransigence’. The example of Pile is obvious. When you are not determined, you cannot defend any of your rights; you cannot make any progress. If we can act together and send stronger messages, such gains will increase.”.
“I DON'T EVEN WANT TO THINK ABOUT THE DESTRUCTION IN GAZA...”
Commenting on Israel's attacks on Gaza, where Palestinian Arabs live, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan said, “There is an obvious fact. Hamas provoked, Israel attacked. Based on the information we have today, we can say that Israel's attacks will continue to intensify. And this frightens me. I am very worried about both the future of our region and the disasters that the people living in Gaza will suffer. I wish that someone will intervene and stop this terrible destruction, even if the possibility is small.”.
