Ahmet Savaşan was awarded the “Worldwide Health Tourism Achievement Award”

Giving information about the activities they continue with their struggle in the World Health Tourism Council, President of the World Health Tourism Council, Deputy Dr. Dr. Dr. Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, He reminded that in 2018, the year he was first elected as vice-president of the Council, which he currently chairs, there were major debates in the parliament and public opinion in Greece and Southern Cyprus, and the delegates representing Greece and Southern Cyprus were forced to resign from the Council by their states.

Stating that he served as Vice President of the World Health Tourism Council representing the TRNC between 2018-22, Ahmet Savaşan explained that his candidacy for the presidential election was tried to be prevented by some EU countries by claiming that “TRNC is not recognized by the UN”. Stating that it was ensured that the Presidency of the World Health Tourism Council was transferred to the TRNC by receiving the support of many other member countries, especially Turkey, Savaşan said that in this process, Founding President Emin Çakmak and Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoglu’s efforts were also great.

Expressing his great regret that the delegates of Croatia and Germany, with whom he served as vice-president and country representative in the World Health Tourism Council for many years and worked for the development of health tourism by attending congresses in many parts of the world, tried to prevent the presidential election by claiming that “TRNC is not recognized” at the general assembly meeting of the council. Ahmet Savaşan, He explained that despite all this process, they won the presidency of the TRNC as a result of their determined and self-sacrificing efforts and lobbying activities carried out by using the right communication methods with the decisive support of Turkey.

Underlining that the work to be carried out during their Presidency will not only be for the TRNC, but will also be aimed at adding value to the representatives of other member states and developing mutual cooperation, he said Ahmet Savaşan, He also emphasized that they will make special efforts to bring health investments from Turkey and the international arena to the TRNC during their presidential term.

“PATIENTS WILL START TO BE ADMITTED IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2024...”

Pointing out that the investment protocol was signed for the construction of a new generation hotel and rehabilitation center in Famagusta with their initiatives and encouragement Ahmet Savaşan, announced that the center will start accepting patients in the first quarter of 2024.

Savaşan said, “At the beginning of our presidential term, we are investing in a new generation hotel and a conceptual physical therapy rehabilitation center equipped with the most advanced robotic systems in the world. The hotel to be created in our Famagusta with 100% accessibility standards and the center that will serve with a multidisciplinary approach will be the shining star of Northern Cyprus in health tourism.” Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, He announced that the center will start accepting patients in 2024 and will host 2 thousand health tourists in 2024.

Savaşan said, “We are determined to increase the number of patients coming to both existing university and private hospitals and clinics for medical tourism and to the centers we will bring to our country and to contribute to our economy by ensuring that people who pay or can pay 1000 dollars a day to protect and improve their health every day in the world prefer our hotels for a healthy holiday. We are working non-stop for this. I believe that our people will feel the positive impact of health tourism on all sectors in our country in a few years.”.
