Prime Minister Ünal Üstel met with party members in Famagusta and Iskele districts of UBP. In his speech, Üstel said, “Our priority is to serve our people.”.
National Unity Party (UBP) President and Prime Minister Unal Üstel, Together with his wife Zerrin Üstel, UBP met with party members in Famagusta and Iskele districts.
During the event, Famagusta district women's branches also organized an event for Breast Health Awareness Month.
During the events, the Speaker of the Parliament Ziya Öztürkler, Secretary General Oguzhan Hasipoglu, Minister of Interior Dursun Oguz, Minister of National Education Nazim Cavusoglu, Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş, Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek, Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova, Members of Parliament Sunat Atun, Ahmet Savaşan, Alişan Şan, Resmîye Canaltay Famagusta District Chairman Nahit Öncü and İskele District Chairman Metin Güllü were also present.
UBP President and Prime Minister Unal Üstel, In his speech at the events, he first condemned the terrorist attack in Ankara.
“OUR PRIORITY IS NEW PROJECTS”
Referring to the congress and the process of the Presidency of the Assembly afterwards, Üstel said, “We had a congress. In this process, we did not respond to what was written and drawn in the press. Because we said that our duty is to serve our people. Our priority is to finish the unfinished projects after 2013. We will continue to work to raise the welfare level of our people.’.
Stating that from the first day they came to the government, they aimed to run the Republican Assembly first, Üstel said, “Likewise, we aimed to run the Council of Ministers in order to implement the laws and avoid disruptions. Both our ministries and the committees of the Assembly of the Republic have found and enacted whatever laws our people need and have carried out the necessary work.”.
Üstel said, “We were careful not to break each other during the congress period. We stood upright against those who tried to break our unity and did not break our unity. After this hour, the page of the congress is closed. We need to work in a way that will not disrupt the unity and integrity of our party. I am trying to act with this awareness.”.
Explaining what happened during the presidential election process of the Republican Assembly, Üstel said Zorlu Töre‘as the Speaker of Parliament Ziya Öztürkler‘, the only task for the government was to publish this result in the official gazette.
“WE DON'T HAVE A SECOND TO LOSE”
“Our country does not have a second to waste,” said Üstel and added, “While there is war all around us, what we need to do is solidarity. Now is the time to become one body. When we look at the past, the success of the UBP is in the middle. UBP has done services that have not been done to our country until today.”.
Üstel continued his words as follows:
“We are entering an important period. We have work to do, projects to complete. In spite of those who are trying to make us waste time, we continue on our way with determination. I am the elder brother, the elder of this party. I have to act with responsibility. I have to maintain the integrity of my party. We have not and will not allow those who try to disrupt our integrity.”
In February 2025, Üstel also talked about the market inspections that will start with the electronic labeling system to be implemented in February 2025 and said, ”Everyone talks about the high prices. We are doing what is necessary for this. The necessary legal work has been done. In line with the intense complaints of our people, all our markets will be inspected much more strictly as of February 1, 2025.”.
