President Ersin Tatar visited the Berlin International Tourism Fair on the second day of his visit to Germany.

President Tatar first visited the TRNC stand and met with hotels and tourism agencies.

President Tatar, who held interviews with the Turkish and foreign press organs, especially BRT, conveyed the latest developments in the Cyprus issue.

President Tatar visited the stands of TRNC as well as Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan and met with senior tourism officials.

MEETING WITH NURİ ERSOY

President Tatar also met with Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Nuri Ersoy in the meeting room at the Northern Cyprus stand and held a meeting for a while.

Minister of Tourism Fikri Ataoğlu and TRNC Berlin Representative Beniz Uluer Kaymak were also present at the meeting.

Making a statement after his meeting with Minister Ersoy, Tatar stated that within the framework of the agreement made with the Turkish Ministry of Tourism, the TRNC will be advertised for promotional purposes first in the UK and then in Germany and Turkey this month.

Tatar stated that the follow-up flights, especially to the UK, will start soon and that the work carried out in this direction is about to be completed, and with this realization, passengers will be able to come to the country without changing planes.

President Tatar said, “The political will is behind this, we are working in full harmony with Motherland Turkey on tourism, and this harmony contributes to the increase in the number of tourists coming to the country.”.

Pointing out that the country's tourism has had a very successful period, President Tatar noted that after the completion of some works at Ercan Airport, passengers will be able to visit the country more easily.

President Tatar emphasized that the ability of large-bodied planes to land at Ercan Airport, which opened on July 20, had a positive impact on tourism.

Noting that new investments and projects in tourism are on the agenda, President Tatar thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his support.

ATAOGLULU “HIGH OCCUPANCY RATE IN HOTELS”

On the other hand, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, who made an assessment on BRT, stated that they will work to increase the number of beds in the country and stated that the occupancy rate in hotels is high.

Stating that they are also carrying out projects to host more tourists, Minister Ataoğlu added that alternative tourism models are also coming to the fore.

UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan, President of the World Health Tourism Council, emphasized the importance of the World Health Tourism Fair to be hosted by the TRNC in April and stated that participants from 50 different countries will show interest in the fair.
