President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, MP Dr. Ahmet Savaşan participated in the Berlin International Tourism Exchange (ITB Berlin) fair, which shaped tourism with its history of more than half a century and brought together 5,500 participants from 161 countries this year. Savaşan said that thanks to the council's activities on the international platform and the newly created digital platform with the Health North Cyprus brand, they aim for Northern Cyprus to achieve a 50 percent increase in health tourism revenues and a 20 percent increase in employment in 2023.

New type Coronavirus Participating in ITB Berlin, the world's largest tourism fair, which could not be held face to face for the last three years due to the pandemic, under the umbrella of the TRNC Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the Cyprus Health Tourism Council represented Northern Cyprus in the Health and Medical Tourism section established in a special area this year and introduced the medical services offered by its members.

Pointing out that the share of health tourism in overall global tourism expenditures has increased, Council President Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, emphasized that they are working to ensure that Northern Cyprus also gets a significant share from this huge industry, which is estimated to grow by 25 percent in the next decade and have a volume of billions of dollars.

Noting that Health North Cyprus (www.healthcyp.com), the health tourism platform accredited by the TRNC Ministry of Tourism, the World Health Tourism Council and the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, which has been working on for 2 years, will start digital marketing activities in selected areas such as IVF, hair transplantation, dental and physical therapy in 10 countries as of April, Dr. Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, “Our goal is to promote and market the health tourism products offered in Northern Cyprus much more effectively and to achieve a 50 percent increase in health tourism revenues and a 20 percent increase in employment in 2023 thanks to the work carried out by our council on the international platform and the digital health tourism platform that we first introduced at ITB Berlin”.
