The Republican Assembly Football Team and the London Turkish Masters Team played a football match on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC.
According to the statement made by the Assembly, the match played at the Nicosia Atatürk Stadium was watched by the Acting President of the Republic, President of the Assembly Zorlu Töre, while Minister of Interior Dursun Oğuz, UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan, CTP MP Teberrüken Uluçay, some former MPs and Assembly staff took part in the Assembly Team.
The event started with a minute's silence and before the match, Töre presented trophies and medals to the London Masters Team.
In his speech here, Töre pointed out that the Republic is alive and wished mercy to the state elders and martyrs who contributed to reaching today.
Stating that the flag of the TRNC continues to fly, Töre said that they will continue to walk this path with the support of Turkey.
