The Health Tourism Council visited Ali Niyazi Fikret, the first Turkish Otorhinolaryngology Doctor of Cyprus, at his clinic and presented him with a plaque on the occasion of Medical Day.

According to the statement made by the Health Tourism Council; Council President Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, Council Board Member and President of the Association of Self-Employed Physicians Dr. Remzi Gardiyanoğlu and Council Board Member and President of the Association of Private Hospitals Dr. Hayat İzel visited Ali Niyazi Fikret, the first Turkish Otorhinolaryngology Doctor of Cyprus, within the scope of the Medical Day events and presented a plaque of appreciation for his 62 years of service to the Turkish Cypriot People.

Stating that Dr. Ali Niyazi Fikret provided unforgettable services to the Turkish Cypriot People as a doctor, TMT member and Minister of National Education, Council President Dr. Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that Fikret was a very valuable role model for the medical world with his discipline, love for humanity, knowledge and self-renewing personality.

The General Health Insurance Law must be passed

Pointing out that choosing a hospital and a physician is an important human right, Ahmet Savaşan underlined that the General Health Insurance Law should be passed immediately. Savaşan said, “If the government wants to reform health, it should pave the way for our people to receive services from private physicians with their social insurance as soon as possible without waiting for the General Health Insurance Law to be passed, thus alleviating the problems experienced in the public sector.”.

The responsibility lies with the state, the duty lies with physicians and health workers...

Stating that the public wants to see a state that fulfills its responsibilities, as well as well-trained, self-renewing physicians and healthcare professionals who produce services under the best working conditions, respect patients by being satisfied with the service they produce and look to the future with hope, Ahmet Savaşan underlined that the most important responsibility for the uninterrupted, effective and quality delivery of healthcare services to citizens falls on the state and the duty falls on physicians and healthcare professionals.
