Cyprus Health Tourism Council President Ahmet Savaşan, represented the TRNC at the World Health Tourism Forum held in Kiev.
According to the statement made by the Council, the 5th World Health Tourism Forum was held in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, which holds the presidency of the World Health Tourism Council, with the offline and online participation of 58 countries.
Savaşan made a speech on “Health Tourism Opportunities of Northern Cyprus and Advantages Offered in IVF Treatments” at the World Health Tourism Forum.

In his speech at the forum, Savaşan pointed out that many things are changing rapidly today and that people attach much more importance to protecting and improving their health than in the past, pointing out that in parallel with this, the non-medical segments of health tourism will gain more importance day by day.
Pointing out that the COVID-19 pandemic, which shook the world deeply, negatively affected human life as well as tourism in general and health tourism in particular, and caused great losses in all economic areas, Savaşan noted that despite this, Northern Cyprus has shown a successful performance in the fight against Covid-19 compared to many countries in terms of protecting the health of its own people and the health of tourists.

Stating that the rate of people who lost their lives due to Covid-19 in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is % 0.08 and the rate of positive cases per hundred thousand is % 0.5, Savaşan said that when these data are considered, Northern Cyprus has become a strong alternative destination that offers healthy holiday opportunities to tourists as a safe tourism country.
Savaşan underlined that this success was achieved as a result of the work of scientists working in qualified universities in the TRNC, the services produced in state-private institutions and organizations related to doctors and healthcare professionals, and most importantly, the political decisions taken on time and the people of the country following the rules.
Savaşan said that Northern Cyprus is preferred by more and more health tourists every day thanks to its success in the fight against Covid-19, its geographical location, historical, touristic and humanitarian features, as well as the price advantages it combines with its potential in health, and that they are working to ensure that this momentum continues to increase.
