Savaşan: “Nature and cultural heritage are essential for tourism”
The Founding President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council pointed out that tourism should grow on the basis of sustainability by preventing damage to the environment, society, culture and economy. Ahmet Savaşan, Savaşan pointed out that a perfect nature and cultural heritage is the natural capital and sine qua non of tourism. Emphasizing that nature and cultural heritage should be protected and multiplied, Savaşan pointed out that it is essential to create tourism awareness in order to achieve this.
Efforts to increase the perception of the importance of tourism should be increased
Pointing out that it is very important to develop tourism awareness and to share experiences by transferring the developments in this field to other countries, Savaşan emphasized that in order to create and develop tourism awareness in our country, efforts to increase the perception of the environmental, economic, political and socio-cultural importance of tourism should be increased.
“Living from the sands” event means a lot
Savaşan pointed out that organizations such as the “living from the sands” event, which was held in the Mediterranean region and brought together non-governmental organizations, municipalities and many tourism sensitive groups, contributed to the formation of tourism awareness in the country. Stating that sustainable environment and tourism in our country can only be possible through continuous activities based on scientific foundations, Savaşan emphasized that tourism and environmental awareness can develop in a way to include the President, ministers, parliamentarians, civil servants, tradesmen, producers, housewives, retired, elderly, students, in short, everyone.
