Ahmet Savaşan explained that in many countries shooting comes after football, and said that in order for sport shooting to develop, the existing shooting range in Gönyeli must first be brought up to international standards. Savaşan pointed out that if the relevant ministries create the necessary resources and pave the way for this sport to be practiced easily, domestic tourism revenues will increase.

Stating that there are more than 500 shooting ranges in Italy today and that shooting range investments are increasing in many countries, Savaşan added that in order for the country to generate income in this field, shooting ranges at international standards should be increased in Northern Cyprus.

Stating that sports contribute to tourism in two different areas, Savaşan said that the first of these is the excellent potential of sports activities in terms of promotion due to their popular characteristics, and the other is that they become a direct part of tourism by causing mass travel movements.
