Cyprus Health Tourism Council President Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, who issued a message on the anniversary of the death of Founding President Denktaş, pointed out that the attitudes of the UN and the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus left the Turkish Cypriot Leadership no choice but to continue the struggle of Denktaş and his friends with the same determination.
Stating that the honorable struggle of the great leader and statesman Denktaş, who devoted his life to the Turkish Cypriot struggle for the existence of the Turkish Cypriot people, has strengthened the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus day by day, Ahmet Savaşan stated that the reason why Denktaş defended the rights, equality and freedom cause of the Turkish Cypriot People throughout his life in a true unity of thought and heart with Motherland Turkey is better understood day by day.

Stating that Denktaş was a great leader and statesman accepted by the world, Savaşan reminded that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was established with the torch lit by Dr. Küçük, the political role assumed by Denktaş, the heavy prices paid by the Turkish Cypriot People and the strong support of Motherland Turkey, and pointed out that the Turkish Cypriot People did not come to these days easily.

Stating that the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus has not taken any concrete steps to show that it wants to share the administration and wealth with the Turkish Cypriot People, Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that the current mentality of the Greek Cypriot leadership prevents the establishment of a federal partnership based on sharing in Cyprus. Pointing out that President Ersin Tatar's statement that the Turkish Cypriot side will sit at the negotiating table on the basis of equal sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriot side is an extremely important step in order to achieve a sustainable agreement, Savaşan pointed out that this also crowns the struggle of Denktaş.

At the end of his message, Savaşan pointed out that the struggle initiated by Dr. Fazıl Küçük and continued by Rauf R. Denktaş in order to reach a fair, comprehensive and sustainable solution on the island and to make peace and stability dominant in the region and how necessary and realistic the theses they advocated are becoming better understood day by day and at the end of his message, Savaşan said, “We commemorate the late Denktaş with deep sorrow and longing and once again bow to his cherished memory with respect and gratitude.”.
