Near East University (NEU) Tourism Research and Development Center (NEU TARGEM) and Near East Tourism and Travel Enterprises recently participated in the Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair (EMITT 2008) in Istanbul with over 2500 participants from 50 countries.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University, the educational opportunities of Near East University and the “Congress Tourism” of Near East Tourism and Travel Enterprises as well as the “Health Tourism” activities to be initiated in order to provide both holiday and oral and dental health services to people who will be brought to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus from abroad were introduced at EMITT 2008.

Ahmet Savaşan, Director of Near East Tourism and Travel Management, who was in Istanbul on behalf of the Near East University, emphasized that with the opening of the doors of the Near East University Faculty of Dentistry to foreign patients, Northern Cyprus tourism will make a significant breakthrough in the field of health in the coming months and said, “People living in Europe have started to turn towards countries where they can have their treatments in economically more affordable and better conditions. Northern Cyprus aspires to be an important center in terms of Health Tourism with the high quality of oral and dental health offered at NEU and all the touristic features of an island country as well as its historical past.”.
