The Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee of the Assembly of the Republic discussed the “Teachers (Amendment) Bill and the “Teachers (Amendment) Bill" prepared to meet the need for teachers arising from the increasing number of students and new schools.
The Assembly of the Republic, Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee discussed the draft laws on its agenda.
According to the information given by the Assembly of the Republic, the Public and Health Affairs Committee convened today at 10.00 am under the chairmanship of UBP MP Committee Chairman Emrah Yeşilırmak. The meeting chaired by Mr. Yeşilırmak was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Committee, CTP MP Filiz Besim and committee members CTP MP Devrim Barçın, UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan and UBP MP Ziya Öztürkler. CTP MP Ceyhun Birinci and Independent MP Jale Refik Rogers also took part in the committee meeting.
The Committee first discussed the “Teachers (Amendment) Bill (Y.T.No: 174/3/2024)” and the “Teachers (Amendment) Bill (Y.T.No: 197/3/2024)" prepared to meet the need for teachers arising from the increasing number of students and new schools. The second reading of the bills, which were discussed article by article, was completed and the third readings were left for the next meeting. Officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of National Education, the Personnel Department, the Cyprus Turkish Teachers' Union (KTÖS) and the Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers' Union (KTOEÖS) attended this part of the meeting as invitees and presented their views on the subject to the committee.
The Committee then discussed the “Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacy Department (Establishment, Duties and Working Principles) (Amendment) Draft Law” article by article. At the meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Health Hakan Dinçyürek, the views of officials from the Ministry of Health, the Personnel Department, the Turkish Cypriot Pharmacists Union, the Turkish Cypriot Physicians Union (TIP-İŞ), the Turkish Cypriot Public Servants Union (KTAMS), the Turkish Cypriot Public Servants Union (KAMU-SEN), the Turkish Cypriot Nurses and Midwives Union were heard.
At today's meeting, the Committee continued to discuss the “Department of Inpatient Treatment Institutions (Establishment, Duties and Working Principles) (Amendment) Bill” item by item. Officials from the Ministry of Health, Personnel Department, TIP-İŞ, KTAMS, KAMU-SEN, Cyprus Turkish Nurses and Midwives Union presented their views to the committee.
It was stated that the committee's work on the bills in question will continue in the next meeting.
