National Unity Party Nicosia District executives paid a visit to Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality. Speaking during the visit, UBP Nicosia District Chairman Ahmet Savaşan and Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu emphasized that the Municipal Reform has achieved its purpose.
National Unity Party (UBP) Nicosia District executives visited Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality.
According to the written statement made by UBP, UBP Nicosia District Chairman Ahmet Savaşan and Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu stated that with the merger, municipalities started to use their resources more efficiently, gained strength and became able to invest.

UBP Nicosia District Chairman and Group Deputy Chairman Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, in his speech during his visit to Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality, emphasized that the Municipal Reform was carried out in order to provide municipalities with a sustainable structure, to increase the effectiveness of the services they provide and to enable them to implement the projects they need, and expressed his satisfaction to see that this goal has been achieved.

Underlining that the financial structures of the municipalities will be strengthened and their administrative capacities will be increased thanks to the laws passed, Savaşan pointed out that the resources provided to the municipalities will be used more effectively and for the benefit of the public, and that the accountability responsibilities of the mayors have also been increased with the amendment.

“The reform of the municipalities is an important action of the government established under the prime ministership of the UBP, but it is also a great achievement whose value will be better understood day by day in terms of the benefit of our people and the sustainability of the municipalities,” Savaşan said, and at the end of his speech, he expressed their satisfaction with the embracing actions of Hüseyin Amcaoğlu and said that the UBP's support for Hüseyin Amcaoğlu is full.
Savaşan also congratulated the municipal council members and all employees for their successful work under the presidency of Amcaoğlu.

Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu, on the other hand, expressed his satisfaction with the visit and wished success to Dr. Ahmet Savaşan and his team, who were newly appointed as the UBP Nicosia District Presidency.
During the visit, Amcaoğlu gave information about the actions taken after taking office and said that they successfully completed the merger process of Alayköy and Gönyeli municipalities required by the local government reform.
President Amcaoğlu also explained the road maps they will follow to eliminate infrastructure deficiencies, citing the recently tendered sewerage project as an example.

Talking about human-oriented social projects, Amcaoğlu underlined the importance they attach to education and sports and emphasized that the people of Gönyeli-Alayköy will continue to receive the services they deserve.
Amcaoğlu also informed Savaşan and his team about the financial situation of the municipality and stated that they will move forward with a strong financial structure.
