UBP Group Deputy Chairman Dr. Ahmet Savaşan evaluated Prime Minister Ünal Üstel's visit to Berlin and said that the contacts will strengthen the TRNC economy.
UBP Group Deputy Chairman Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, Prime Minister Unal Üstel’s visit to Berlin is a strategic move to encourage investment in the TRNC and increase the effectiveness of tour operators in Northern Cyprus.
Speaking in a television program Ahmet Savaşan, The Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus' attempts to target the construction and tourism sectors in the TRNC and stated that Prime Minister Üstel's contacts in Germany included important steps to increase investments in Northern Cyprus and to develop tourism.
FRUITFUL MEETINGS WITH THE BUSINESS WORLD IN GERMANY
Stating that Prime Minister Üstel, who went to Berlin at the invitation of the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) and met with MÜSİAD officials as well as Turkish-German Businessmen (TDU), participated in meetings where investment opportunities were discussed, Savaşan stated that these contacts will contribute positively to the economic development of the TRNC.
GLOBAL POLITICS MEETS AT ITB BERLIN FAIR
Stating that the ITB Berlin Fair was remarkable not only in terms of economic but also political participation, Savaşan said that 39 ministers and 37 ambassadors from 34 countries, especially Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, attended the fair. Savaşan said that Üstel, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoglu and tourism sector representatives strengthened the country's representation at the fair.
INCREASING THE NUMBER OF FLIGHTS AND SPECIAL PRICE APPLICATIONS WERE DISCUSSED
Stating that Prime Minister Üstel met with Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, at the Northern Cyprus stand established at the ITB Berlin fair, Savaşan stated that the steps that can be taken for the TRNC to develop new collaborations in tourism and to take more place in the global market were evaluated during this meeting. Stating that issues such as increasing the number of flights between Northern Cyprus and Turkey and the realization of special price applications were discussed during the meeting, Savaşan said that the works that can be done to attract tourists not only from Turkey but also from other countries to the TRNC were also discussed.
ÜSTEL HELD PRODUCTIVE MEETINGS WITH TOUR OPERATORS AND PRESS MEMBERS
Prime Minister Unal Üstel’s tour operators, with whom he met at the ITB Berlin Fair, encouraged them to increase their activities in Northern Cyprus. Ahmet Savaşan, He noted that Üstel also had the opportunity to hold meetings with members of the press within the scope of his fair contacts. Savaşan stated that the meetings held in Germany will have positive reflections on the economy of Northern Cyprus as well as making it more visible in the international arena.
