NEAR East University (NEU) presented a plaque of appreciation to TRNC Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş for the exhibition titled “A Section of Northern Cyprus Photographs” opened at NEU Grand Library.
According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of Near East University, the exhibition opened by the Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia Türkekul Kurttekin, ministers, MPs, NEU Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Günsel, NEU Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Günsel, Nicosia Mayor Cemal Bulutoğulları and the Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia Türkekul Kurttekin due to the fact that TRNC Founding President Denktaş was abroad due to health problems, attracted great interest from faculty members, students, tourists and the public.

In the statement, Ahmet Savaşan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Near East University Tourism Research and Development Center (NEU TARGEM), said: “It is a great honor for us that Founding President Denktaş opened his exhibition at our university, where he painted the touristic, cultural, historical, social and humanitarian aspects of Northern Cyprus from his artistic perspective. The exhibited paintings describe the touristic richness of our country in a very effective way. It will be useful to utilize these unique paintings in the promotion of the country.”.
Recently, Founding President Denktaş was presented a plaque of appreciation by NEU TARGEM Chairman Ahmet Savaşan and NEU Faculty of Fine Arts Vice Dean Assist. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökçe K. Şekeroğlu for the exhibition opened at the university.
