“POLITICAL STRUGGLES MUST NOT RENDER PARLIAMENT INOPERABLE!”

Expressing that it is regrettable that the TRNC Assembly is so involved in internal party politics or domestic politics through the relations between the ruling party and the opposition Ahmet Savaşan, He pointed out that although the Parliament is a place for politics, political struggles should not render the Parliament inoperable.

“CTP’S EXPLOITATION OF WHAT HAPPENED WAS NOT ACCEPTED”

“It must be admitted that the problem started when the internal struggle within the UBP was reflected in the election for the presidency of the Assembly. If all our friends had voted for the candidate chosen by our group from the beginning, all this would not have happened. We have to accept this,” Savaşan said, adding that the main opposition CTP’s exploitation of this situation is not accepted.

“UBP DOES NOT FEAR OR RUN AWAY FROM MY ELECTION”

CTP’s plans to drag the country to elections with the chaos it is trying to create, Savaşan said: “CTP is wrong to think like this. Moreover, instead of exploiting the problems within the UBP for the purpose of early elections, they can follow a much more respectable path. This path is always open. CTP If he wants, he can submit a motion for early elections and get it voted on, and the will of the Parliament on this issue will be clear. If the result is a vote of no confidence, we will say that the Sharia does not hurt and we will go to the elections. It is an indisputable fact that the UBP, which has renewed its organizations and all governing bodies in the very recent past, is the party most ready for the elections. No one should worry, we are not afraid of elections and will not run away. We will hold the election when necessary.”.

“EARLY ELECTIONS ARE NOT ON THE AGENDA OF UBP”

Underlining that there are no early elections on the UBP's agenda, Savaşan stated that the priority of the UBP is to run the parliament in order to implement the laws that will serve the people of the country as soon as possible and said, “In our election calendar, the first presidential elections in 2025, local elections in 2026 and general elections in 2027 are included.’.

“THE ELECTION FOR THE PRESIDENCY OF THE PARLIAMENT IS COMPLETED”

Underlining that the election for the presidency of the parliament has been completed Ahmet Savaşan, said that their political determination on this issue will continue. CTP’Savaşan stated that they have given the opportunity to nominate a candidate for the vice presidency by solving the problem internally and said that they will show the necessary political determination after maintaining this attitude for a while. “We will take the necessary measures and make the necessary decisions for the Assembly to start its work. At the top of our agenda are the war next to us, the problems of the country, the budget for 2025, the attacks on our economy by the Greek Cypriot side and the measures to be taken against them.
