UBP MP and President of the World Health Tourism Council Dr. Ahmet Savaşan said that during the government period headed by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, efforts were made to solve the problems that have been going on for many years and the political will was shown during the government period headed by Üstel.
National Unity Party (UBP) MP, President of the World Health Tourism Council Dr. Ahmet Savaşan was the guest of the program ‘Sabah Postası’, which was broadcast on Kıbrıs Postası TV and prepared and presented by Gökhan Altıner.
Reminding that many regions have been affected by the rains that have been effective in the region in recent days, UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that their only wish is that there was no loss of life. Ahmet Savaşan noted that Prime Minister Ünal Üstel's correct predictions and the consultation with both central and local methods from the first moment ensured that this process was comfortable. Emphasizing that the problems caused by the mistakes made in infrastructure and lack of foresight for many years can be solved through urban transformation, Ahmet Savaşan said, “In order to be prepared for natural disasters, we need to make urban transformations more prepared and more effective. What happened is not exactly our problem, but we need to take steps to prevent them in the future. Our government is sensitive and conscious about this issue. In the coming periods, both infrastructural and superstructural urban transformation will start here with the support of Turkey at the point of urban transformation.”.

“WITH THE MUNICIPALITIES REFORM LAW, MANY ISSUES HAVE BECOME HISTORY”
Ahmet Savaşan, who also evaluated the government's actions, mentioned that with Ünal Üstel becoming Prime Minister, some laws that had been talked about for many years but were kept on hold due to the lack of political initiative and the necessary administration, and that these laws were implemented one by one during the Üstel government. Ahmet Savaşan said, “Prime Minister Üstel put forward the political will regarding the Municipalities Reform, the Inpatient Treatment Institution and a few laws that could touch people's lives,” and stated that the Municipalities Reform, which can be called a reform in the country, was implemented. Savaşan said, “With the Municipalities Reform Law, many issues have become history. For example, unsustainable structures were eliminated, the number of municipalities was reduced with the law. In order for the municipalities to provide serious service and to realize important projects for the people, there has been a reform process that friends from other parties are satisfied with.”.
WE NEED A HOSPITAL WITH STRONG INFRASTRUCTURE”
Ahmet Savaşan stated that Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital has expired and said, “We need a hospital with a strong infrastructure. In 2024, we will see that we will have a well-equipped modern structure that will be worthy of the Turkish Cypriot people and will be able to serve.”.
“WE WILL BRING THE HEALTH FIELD TO A POSITION THAT WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY MORE RELAXED THAN BEFORE 2024”
Explaining that a large hospital will be built in Nicosia and health centers will be built in other regions, Savaşan said, “We will bring the health field to a position that will make it significantly more comfortable than before 2024. Serious steps are being taken to build the hospital.” Explaining that manpower will be needed with the construction of the hospital, Savaşan said that preparations such as nurses, doctors and auxiliary personnel are being made in the Inpatient Treatment Institution Law. The law has been talked about for at least 15 years, but it could not be done. Our administration passed the committee. I salute the efforts of those who have worked at this stage until today. Necessary arrangements have been made to increase the capacity of intensive care services, to improve the conditions of intensive care workers compared to other workers, and to prevent the intensity in emergency services. Legal arrangements were made to minimize the problems our people are experiencing today.”.

“WE ARE WORKING HARD AS GOVERNMENT AND MPS”
Stating that the rewards of the works realized during the period of the Üstel government will be seen in 2024, Savaşan said:
“The year 2024 will be a year when we get efficiency from the laws implemented. Üstel's statement that ‘2024 will be better than 2023’ is true. We are working hard as the government and MPs to make it better. 2024 is a very busy year for us.”
“THE STRONGER THE UBP IS, THE MORE STABLE THIS STATE WILL BE”
Savaşan also made statements about the party congress to be held this year. Stating that he thinks the congress will be held in a natural process, Savaşan said that people who want to can be candidates in the congress, “Our main goal here is to vote for stability, we should be sensitive to ensure stability. On the day of the congress, the party members will lock on to the name that can lift the party and the country. We will make a choice within ourselves. Those who expect different things to arise in this congress will not be happy,” he said. Underlining that the UBP is a very big and important party, Savaşan said, “When that day comes, we will vote for the person who will carry the party and the country forward. There is no other UBP. The stronger the UBP is, the more stable this state will be. We will act with this consciousness. First, we will ensure stability in our party and reflect it to our state, let everyone know this. There is no fight within us,” he said.
