UBP Secretary General v. Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, in his message published on the occasion of the 15th November Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Republic Day, stated that he celebrated the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of the TRNC with pride, honor and gratitude. In his message, Savaşan emphasized that November 15 is one of the most meaningful days when the Turkish Cypriot people declared their will for freedom and sovereignty to the world and their struggle for existence was crowned with statehood.
Savaşan, who is of Paphos origin, was born in Nicosia in 1977. He completed his undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degrees at Near East University. He conducted academic studies as an associate professor, organized more than 100 congresses and received awards. Having worked as a manager for 20 years, Savaşan served as the President of the World Health Tourism Council in 2023-24. Savaşan, who was elected as UBP Nicosia MP in 2022 and is currently UBP Group Deputy Chairman, contributed to nearly 100 legislative studies. Savaşan is married and has one child.
