Cyprus Health Tourism Council President Dr. Ahmet Savaşan attended the General Assembly of the Turkish Health Tourism Development Council (THTC), which has the world's largest network in its field with 166 network offices in 92 countries, in Istanbul, representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

According to the statement made by the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, Dr. Köksal Holoğlu, President of Romatem Hospitals Group, took over the 7th Term Executive Board Presidency of the Turkish Health Tourism Development Council from Meri İstiroti, Liv Hospital Group Coordinator, and Bülent Akarcalı, former Minister of Tourism and Health of the Republic of Turkey, was appointed as the Honorary President. Ahmet Savaşan’s participation and also made a speech on the Health Tourism opportunities of Northern Cyprus.

In his speech, Dr. Dr. Çakmak thanked THTC Founding President Emin Çakmak, who played a decisive role in both the initiation of the institutionalization process of Health Tourism in Northern Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus becoming a member of the World Health Tourism Council and showing its presence on the first international platforms as a Vice President country. Ahmet Savaşan, Dr. Köksal Holoğlu, who stated that he will act with a proactive management approach by establishing a qualified staff, expressed his satisfaction with the election of Dr. Köksal Holoğlu as the 7th term president of THTC.

We will enhance our cooperation with THTC

Stating that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has made significant progress with the support of Motherland Turkey in the field of tourism in general and Health Tourism in particular, Savaşan expressed his belief that the ongoing cooperation with THTC will continue to be developed in the new period.

Emphasizing that Northern Cyprus has all the features required to be preferred in health tourism thanks to its geographical location, historical, touristic and humanitarian features, as well as high success rates in IVF centers, state-of-the-art technology devices in private and university hospitals, specialist physicians using up-to-date information, international accreditations, medical welness and spa applications offered in its hotels, and price advantages combined with its potential in advanced age and disabled tourism, Dr. Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, At the end of his speech, he called on THTC members to increase cooperation in sending more health tourists to Northern Cyprus.

Within the scope of his Istanbul contacts, he also attended a consultation meeting with nearly 200 tourism professionals, including the representative of the Turkish Ministry of Trade, as well as council members from all over Turkey and Hüseyin Baraner, one of the brand names of tourism, where many issues such as pricing strategies in Health Tourism, the establishment of scientific, financial and ethical committees, participation in patient-targeted fairs were discussed.
