At the General Assembly of the Assembly of the Republic, the decision of the Advisory Board of the Assembly of the Republic regarding today's meeting was read first.
Accordingly, the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee decided to postpone the discussion on the Proposal for a Law on the Appointment of Public Officials Holding High Level Management (Amendment) and the Turkish Cypriot Social Insurance (Amendment) Proposal for a Law.
It was decided that the preliminary discussion of the Proposal for the Opening of a Parliamentary Investigation on “Investigating whether the Statistical Institute Data Reflect the Reality”, jointly submitted by UBP MP Sunat Atun and CTP MP Erkut Şahali on behalf of their groups, and the preliminary discussion of the Proposal for the Opening of a Parliamentary Investigation on “Investigating the Administrative and Financial Audit System of the Activities of Higher Education Institutions in our country and YÖDAK”, jointly submitted by CTP MP Sıla Usar İncirli and UBP MP Ahmet Savaşan on behalf of their groups, be placed on today's agenda. The said motions were unanimously approved.
The motion submitted by UBP MP Emrah Yeşilırmak for the Committee to discuss the Special (Amendment) Law Proposal on the Unification of Municipalities, which is on the agenda of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee, was unanimously approved.
The motion for the urgent discussion of the Housing Acquisition (Amendment) Bill, which is on the agenda of the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee, was unanimously approved.
The memorandum regarding the third discussion of the Draft Law on Village and Neighborhood Boards of Elders (Amendment), which was discussed with urgency by the Economy, Finance, Budget and Plan Committee, was unanimously approved.
The motion for the third discussion of the Pension (Amendment) Bill, which was discussed with urgency in the Administrative, Public and Health Affairs Committee, was unanimously approved.
Subsequently, the floor was opened for information.
The “Motion for the Opening of a Parliamentary Investigation on Ensuring Transparency in Public Administration and Restoring the Lost Trust of the Statistical Institute in the Public Opinion and Whether the Statistical Institute Data Reflect the Truth, especially in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, and What are the Measures to be Taken and Whether There is a Negligence in These Matters”, submitted by CTP Group Deputy Chairman Erkut Şahali on behalf of the motion holders, together with some MPs affiliated to the CTP group, was withdrawn. Parliament Speaker Zorlu Töre stated that this motion was withdrawn with the agreement reached between the groups.
